Business Activities
Raw materials,
yarn,
and fabric
—these three
elements come
together to
form valuable
products.
We source various raw materials and spin them into yarn, which is then turned into fabric. This fabric is used by our customers to produce apparel items like cut-and-sew garments. By managing all production stages—raw materials, yarn, and fabric —we can transform our customers' concepts into reality.
Raw materials
Cotton and Wool: Understanding
Their Properties
Cotton has unique qualities. We procure cotton from various countries, including the United States, and produce yarn that harnesses each cotton's distinctive features. Our deep understanding of the properties of raw materials, such as cotton, is essential. To bring our customers' apparel concepts to life, we start by focusing on the raw materials.
This involves examining the structure of cotton and wool, understanding the climatic conditions of the regions where they are produced, and determining the resulting properties of the materials.
At our Kumamoto factory, equipped with state-of-the-art spinning machinery and staffed by skilled artisans, raw materials from around the globe are spun into yarn.
Yarn
From Natural Fibers to Synthetic Fibers
By combining yarns with diverse properties, we create highly innovative yarns with limitless potential. Our expertise encompasses both natural fibers like cotton and synthetic fibers. Currently, we supply the apparel market with approximately 1,000 different types of yarn each year, featuring various functionalities and textures. We offer numerous advantages to our customers, including OEM production of raw yarn and risk-managed sales of our original yarns.

With our in-house production capabilities, we can deliver intricate, highly-designed fabrics that meet the highest standards for quality and finish.
Lab
Viewing Manufacturing from Social
and Industrial Perspectives
We have established a foundation for creating materials—from selecting raw materials to spinning yarn and producing fabric. Tatsuta Boseki's strength lies in having firmly established this foundation, which serves as the starting point for manufacturing. The textile industry is highly specialized and often involves segmented processes; however, we remain committed to producing yarn from raw cotton and wool, and turning it into fabric ourselves.
We aim to leverage this strength and experience in broader fields, which led to the establishment of our Lab project.
Centered on our Kumamoto production base, along with our headquarters in Himeji City and sales offices in Osaka and Tokyo, we share information across our locations to collaborate on new themes and projects, free of departmental barriers. At times, we move swiftly, while at others, we conduct thorough evaluations and investigations, ensuring that we seize business opportunities and develop them into long-term projects.
Lab, which leads research and development from a social and industrial perspective, and focuses on contributing to society, will become the core of Tatsuta Boseki's future initiatives.
